“ I waited to visit since this restaurant is new and didn't want to deal with the heavy traffic that comes with a new opening. Now that they've been open for a little bit we made sure to stop by. The atmosphere is different than your standard Mexican joint which a liked. The inside uses bright colors and updated fixtures with a party vibe. The service is great and the menu has a large variety of food for everyone. I enjoyed the selection of drinks and the dessert menu was nice as well. I would call ahead if you have a large party or want to visit during busy hours just in case. ”

“ We enjoyed our meal at Cafe Azul. This is a new restaurant in Shelby (staff said they had been open about 5 months.) I ordered the Pescado C-AZ minus the shrimp due to shellfish allergy. It was well prepared, artfully presented with an edible flower and was delicious. I would order it again. My husband had a chicken, steak dish presented in a 1/2 a pineapple shell with a side of tortillas and it also came with rice and beans - probably would have been better to share as he could barely finish it. We also ordered the guacamole which is made fresh when you order. Timing was a little off on this as we received the guacamole without chips but they remedied it quickly when we asked. The decor is Frida, Frida, Frida as it states her home was the inspiration for Casa Azul. Music seemed loud and odd for the decor and restaurant's theme, but others may enjoy. Seems like they are going for a date night vibe. We were there on a Thursday night so we didn't wait long for table or service. Wait staff and manager we encountered seemed engaged and friendly. We will try again in the future. ”
